There's no elevator here?

2016 is over?! Already?!

Where did the time go? For me it flew by by the amount of hours I’ve worked at my jobs and not spending enough time where I needed to and not spending what little “me” time I had working on me.

So what is going to make 2017 a better year? MY purpose, my goals, and my aspirations. No more of this “I wish” stuff. I stepped on the scale today after a week and a half of not watching my diet; but really it’s been a few months since i REALLY tried to keep watch on my diet…. I’m not happy. But I follow a guy on Instagram and like he said “even if you have a relapse…..never forget how far you are from where you started. Slip ups are temporary, learn from them, and make improvements that will last a lifetime.” (@danny_getsfit on Instagram). I’ve had a rough few months working a lot and not focusing on myself. So stepping on the scale today I knew I HAD to make a change I can’t afford to have slip ups like this.

2017 is going to be a better year for me. I’m going to eat healthier, I’m going to meal plan and prep way more than just lunches. That means breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks; whatever, have to be strategic. Calories, carbs, all the things HAVE to be taken into account. I know that my diet is a big a part of where I want to be and where I am. I’m also going to HAVE to up my gym routine, my schedule and how I spend my time outside of work, church, gym time and my continuing pursuit (that needs to come to an end soon) of my certification to become a personal trainer.

So what steps am I going to take?

First things first I need to set my goals. What is ultimate end goal? How can I get there? I’ve got to come up with a game plan. So now I've made up my mind on my goals. I have to make a plan with steps and how to get there. Metaphorically there is no Elevator to weight loss you have to take the stairs one by one. You can try to leap down but you’ll end up falling or hurting yourself. So enough with that metaphor…

I’ve already kind of made my plan now I feel like it’s important to write it down, type if out, remind myself daily where I’m heading and how I’m doing. I think that’s the best thing anyone can do. Why? You ask; well lets hash that out. If you have your goals written down or typed out so that you can see them and you can remind yourself EVERYDAY where you are. Sure you may not meet each goals right away or maybe not quite on time but hey you can meet them!!

At this point you may be asking “So what are his goals? Why is he posting them online? I wonder if he’ll actually meet his goals?”

To answer your questions here you go

Goals
  1. Lose 15-20 pounds and gain roughly 5 back in muscle
  2. Tone the midsection, shrink my love handles (of course I know that’s not as easy as I want it to be but I was doing really well in the fall)
  3. Control my diet with meal planning and prep
  4. Finish my certification process as soon as possible

Why am I posting online?
Because I want others to know that I want them to help keep me accountable for my goals, check in with me and see how I’m doing (AND I’d love to do the same with you. I’d love to know your goals and how you’re doing wit your goals!!)

Will he meet his goals?
Gosh I hope so. I know that I can meet my goals as long as I work toward them. I’ve just got to set my mind to it and get them done. One step on the stairs at a time, there’s no elevator, remember?

ONE STEP AT A TIME
(that’s how we will each reach our goals!!)
